Caravanning used to be an activity restricted by the seasons. After all, isn't it all about the outdoor life and having fun in the sun?

For some, the winter months are about relaxing at home, in the warmth of their home. They may have spent the summer driving up and down the country - even across Europe and further afield - so winter is about putting their caravan into storage whilst they enjoy a well deserved rest at home.

For others though, winter can mean the start of the next big adventure...

Winter caravanning

If your caravan has been looked after and prepared for the winter months, there's no reason why you can't enjoy the freedom caravanning brings all year round.

Thanks to design, heating and insulation improvements, caravanning all year round can be extremely enjoyable. Imagine waking up on a winters morning, looking out on to a frosty campsite or wrapping up and taking walks through a crisp forest to find a cosy pub with an open fire and hearty food.

With many sites opening all year round and offering full facilities, winter no longer means you have to compromise on comfort or fun. Some sites even hold Christmas festivities, such as Cheddar Site in Somerset, with their 'Mulled Wine and Mince Pies' on December 24th.

There are winter and Christmas events up and down the country, including the York St Nicholas Fayre, with many campsites such as Cawood Park close by, offering 'Breakfast with Santa', and ready to welcome winter adventurers.
