The UK new car market is revving up for its strongest sales year since 2008. The latest figures from the Society of Motor and Manufacturing and Traders suggest that UK registrations increased by 11.3% to 149,191 units in November. Year-to-year date figures stand at 1,921,052, which is a massive 5.4% on the same period in 2011.

The figures also mean that the UK is the second largest new car market in Europe, behind Germany but ahead of France, Italy and Spain.
