The Life Ball is an event held every year in Vienna, Austria to raise money for the fight against HIV and AIDS. Car manufacturer Mini have played a part since 2001, auctioning off one of their cars that’s been redesigned by a world-famous designer. This year they chose Robert Cavalli to give their Mini Paceman a makeover. Cavalli chose to give the car a shimmering paint job which changes color from brown to black, depending on the lighting. Apart from the paintwork, there is also a huge Cavalli logo on the top of the car, and the interior will feature luxury upholstery in keeping with the fashion designers personal tastes. Whether or not the car can fetch a similar price (€54,000) to previous designer’s work – such as the redesigned Roadster by Franca Sozzani – will become clear on May 24th, 2013 in Vienna.
