It may not be as widely recognised as What Car: Car of the Year Award or Top Gears’ Annual Awards, but the Women’s World Car of the Year is an equally important accolade to all those female drivers out there.

The 21-strong female judging panel reveals a wide selection of motoring journalists from all over the globe; UK, South Africa, Canada, India and Australia to name a few. Judges vote for their favourite family car, luxury car, sports car, economy car and overall supreme winner using a 10-strong voting system - awarding points to their preferred choice.

The awards were first held in 2010 with Jaguar’s XF the overall winner and last years’ award ended a draw between Citroen’s DS3 and the BMW 5-Series.
