This year’s Forest Live is set to be the biggest ever event held as part of the Forestry Commission’s annual concert series. Pop icon Blondie, one of last year’s most successful artists Paloma Faith and one of the hottest bands currently out of Ireland, The Script, have all been confirmed for the summer season. They’ll tour around some of the most breath taking landscapes The Forestry Commission has to offer as holidaymakers unhitch their caravans, park up their motorhomes and pitch a tent, in the biggest The Forest tour began in 2001 with Jools Holland and the Levellers performing at four participating Forestry Commission sites – Dalby Forest, Bedgebury Pinetum and Hill Lodge, Thetford Forest. The concept was to attract major acts for a series of concerts, whilst enjoying the picturesque surroundings. This year, organisers have utilised nearby caravan and camping facilities within the Forest sites, offering those visiting affordable and convenient overnight accommodation. These sites are the result of a partnership between the Camping and Caravanning Club and the Forestry Commission. Bob Hill, Sites Director, said: “All of our Camping in the Forest Sites are located in woodland locations and they’re in the perfect proximity to the Forestry Commission’s concert arenas. “For a true forest experience, why not pitch up with us? Enjoy the music and the great outdoors all rolled into one!” When holidaymakers are taking a break from the music; there is a huge range of onsite activities available onsite including fishing, cycling, archery, horse riding, climbing, water sports and forest walks. Tickets are just £36 per person for The Script and Blondie and £32 per person for Paloma Faith. (subject to a booking fee).
