This weekend sees the Chelsea Auto Legends return for its third edition, in a celebration of stylish automotive and motorsport heritage. More than 15,000 people are expected to descend onto the ground of the Royal Hospital in Chelsea, with over 500 collectors’ cars motorcycles and racing vehicles on display.

Supercar spotters at Buckingham Palace and Hyde Park Corner can expect to see a Bugatti Veyron, Ferrari FF, Lamborghini Aventador and Rolls-Royce Ghost as they parade towards the glorious grounds of the Royal Hospital. As the name of the event suggests, it’s not all about these exuberant vehicles, there’ll be various displays of “Star Cars” and “70’s Cool” – it’s the ultimate family motoring event.

The event gives the public the opportunity to come face-to-face with the Bloodhound SuperSonic car – a car, that its makers, hope will be the first to reach 1,000mph on land.

Richard Noble, Bloodhound project director, said: "It's great to be invited to show at Chelsea Auto Legends. Although we are determined to smash the record, Bloodhound's main objective was to get young people interested in science, engineering and technology and I really feel that the Techno Park can help us reach that audience, as well as celebrating British innovation."

The Techno Park is part of a new area for exhibitors this year, along with the Restoration Corner, which gives budding motorists the opportunity to get up close and personal with how-to guide on restoration.

One of the highlights for Ferrari enthusiasts will be the 1956 Ferrari 500 TRC which was driven in the first class at the 1957 24 hours of Le mans, and is now viewed as one of the most iconic racing cars of the 1950’s. Alongside the 500 TRC, there’ll be the infamous Ferrari F40 the 288 GTO, which was owned by the former director of Renault F1 and wide variety of prancing horses from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s.

Chelsea Auto Legends takes place this coming Sunday September 2nd. Tickets are priced at £25 for adults, which include a souvenir programme. Entry for children ages 12-16 is £10 and can be purchased from the Chelsea Auto Legends website.
