Family-run business
Specialised Covers is a family-run firm Established by husband and wife team Carole and Douglas Long in the late 1970’s whilst continuing to run their hairdressing salons in West Yorkshire. In 1981 Specialised Covers was created and became the leading car cover manufacturer in the UK. Their daughter Katie took over running the business in 2014 as MD after joining in 2004 with a huge wealth of experience having been around the cover sector her whole life, initially supporting in the creative and marketing sector of the company.
At the core of our business is a dedicated team of car, caravan and motorsport enthusiasts who want to support British made products and the UK textile industry. We’re as passionate about protecting and preserving your pride and joy as you are, and will always provide the best possible solutions with a service to match.
Our approach to the tailored cover market is unique because we never settle for anything less than perfect – each and every cover we produce is distinctive because of it’s quality, longevity, and attention-to-detail.
Using the most up-to date manufacturing techniques, our production facility in West Yorkshire is home to some of the UK’s most experienced tailors, designers and seamstresses and every Specialised Cover is manufactured under ISO 9001 Quality Supervision.
