Supporting Local Business – Darley Street Market Escalator Covers
We were recently approached by Bradford Council and the management team behind the brand-new Darley Street Market to design and produce a set of bespoke escalator-end covers for the impressive new city centre venue. As a local Bradford-based company known for our tailored textile solutions, we were delighted to be involved in this high-profile project. The original setup used temporary plastic barriers—commonly found on building sites—which didn’t align with the market’s polished, modern aesthetic. Our role was to create a professional, practical solution that would clearly signal when escalators were out of use, guiding visitors safely to alternative routes such as the stairs.
Industrial Solutions
Each cover was constructed using a durable woven fabric with a PVC lining — selected specifically for its dual-purpose performance. The outer woven layer provides a refined, professional appearance suited to a public-facing environment, while the inner PVC lining offers grip and structure, ensuring the covers stay securely in place against the escalator’s rubber handrails. Designed for repeated use, the button press stud system allows the covers to be attached and removed quickly by staff, making them ideal for daily operational changes within a busy public venue.
