What Is a Towing Cover and Why Does Fit Matter?

A towing cover is designed to protect the front of your caravan while it’s on the move, guarding against dirt, grit, stone chips, and road debris that can cause costly damage. At Specialised Covers, all of our towing covers (with the exception of the Tow Pro Lite) are fully tailored to the exact make, model, and year of your caravan. This means you get a perfect, secure fit that doesn’t flap, shift, or need constant adjustment while towing.

Our Tow Pro covers are designed for a quick, secure, and fuss-free fit. Each side of the cover features awning tape, which slides directly into your caravan’s existing awning channels. This ensures the cover sits perfectly across the front of the van with no slipping or shifting during travel.

Thanks to the tailored design, the cover hugs the shape of your caravan precisely, removing the need for constant adjustments. Additional clips are used to secure the bottom of the cover underneath the van, along with a central strap that clips under the A-frame for extra stability.

Unlike many universal covers on the market that require cutting and fiddling with straps, our tailored Tow Pro range is designed for ease and precision. Once fitted, the cover stays firmly in place, eliminating hassle and giving you total peace of mind during every journey. Not only does this protect the front panel of your caravan from stone chips, dirt and grime, but it also offers a sleek, smart look that complements your vehicle beautifully.

The only exception is our Tow Pro Lite, a universal fit designed for caravans built before 2012, as this predates our comprehensive database of caravan measurements. While not tailored, the Tow Pro Lite still offers excellent protection in our specialist fabrics and is a great entry-level option for older models.

All of our covers are made using specialist materials, carefully chosen to provide reliable protection while maintaining a premium, attractive finish. We offer two fabric options to suit different needs:

• Vintex Fabric – is designed to withstand small stone chips and road debris, with a soft inner lining to ensure it won’t scratch your caravan’s surface. It’s lightweight, robust, and ideal for regular touring. The finish of the fabric makes it easy clean, just wipe with a damp cloth and warm water after use.

• Velcrotex Fabric – Offering the same stylish look as Vintex, Velcrotex includes an additional 6mm foam backing for enhanced impact resistance, what we like to call “body armour” for your caravan. It’s perfect for those who want an extra layer of defence, especially on longer or more frequent trips on possible rough terrain. Again, the finish of the fabric makes it easy clean, just wipe with a damp cloth and warm water after use.
