Due to customer requests we can now offer the option of an easy access opening to your cover when configuring it for an additional £45. This involves the rear back panel having velcro from the roof to the floor allowing the whole back section to be lifted. This can support fitting the cover if you feel that the weight and size will be difficult to manage. However we do feel it makes a very small differences as the volume of the cover is still the same and needs to be lifted onto the roof. This access point is to provide the customers with the option if required. Please call our team if you would like to discuss how it would work best for you.

Solar panel perspex openings can also be added at an additional cost of £75. We will require dimensions for the panel as even factory fit panels are not in the same location. Please note if your require the panel the cover cannot be used in the warmer months, the increase in temperature heats the Perspex which when cooled, cracks.

If you would like a solar panel adding please select from the drop down and complete the form you can find here . The completed form can then be returned to info@specialisedcovers.com. Your production lead time will start once we have received all the additional dimensions required.

    • 3D Caravan Cover modelling
      3D Caravan Cover modelling
To achieve the tailored pattern we can deploy a number of different techniques. Traditionally we would measure the caravan by hand creating a dimension sheet to cut from. Working with CAD elevates the accuracy and the design, eliminating the need for a team to visit the caravans and can speed up the design process.

    FAQs

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Condensation under covers?
At certain times of the year in particular autumn you will find that dew is laying on grass, window sills, garden furniture, caravans , cars etc. This will still happen underneath your cover because it is touching a cold piece of metal. There’s no need to worry the cover isn't leaking, the condensation will vaporise as the temperature rises and it will escape through your cover. If you are concerned you can perform a bucket test on the cover and fill a section to see if water passes through the fabric.
How will the heat effect my cover ?
Due to increasing temperatures in the UK we can no longer guarantee the fabrics performance if left on in temperatures exceeding 25 degrees celsius. The ambient air temperature is not reflected in the cover temperature as these will be significantly higher if left in direct sunlight and can be almost double that of the air temperature. With towing covers the movement of the air over the caravan when in transit will help to regulate the temperature and will be fit for purpose when used outside the UK. The issue may arise when left on for storage which the towing covers are not designed for. Therefore please note covers should be removed to prevent damage to the cover fabric which will reduce the covers life span if the temperatures are above 25 degrees celsius . Higher UV stable fabrics are available on request and incur additional costs per cover. If a cover has been left out in extreme temperatures it will not be covered under its warranty and can be tested to confirm heat damage has occurred.
What are the covers made from?
The covers are manufactured in a unique multi-layered fabric called Torrent designed to protect vehicles from the harmful effects of direct sunlight, dirt, abrasion and damp weather. Torrent is fully waterproof (not water resistant which will allow water to penetrate) and breathable by having a directional membrane sandwiched in between the fabric layers. This innovative fabric is EXCLUSIVELY available to Specialised Covers only! The fabric is guaranteed for 3 years when used in the UK. Usage outside the UK will result in the guarantee being null and void.
What benefits are there to having a caravan cover?
A tailored fitted cover will provide extensive protection from adverse weather condition, bird dropping, pollution, dirt, black water streaking and UV damage. The cover is an added deterrent from thieves and prying eyes. Rubber seals round the windows are protected from perishing. Curtains, furniture and decals will be protected from fading. Overall complete protection and a reduction in cleaning time.
What is included with my cover?
Included with the cover is a storage bag, universal ͚A frame cover, fitting kit with poles and a fabric guarantee of 3 years.
Do you have the measurements for my caravan cover?
We have an extensive database of all makes and models of caravans available. Simply call to confirm if we have your caravan on file. If not we can email or send you a dimension sheet for completion.
Will the caravan covers scratch the paint work or windows?
Our unique fabric called Torrent, is a non- abrasive multi-layered fabric designed to protect vehicles from the harmful effects of direct sunlight, dirt, abrasion and damp weather. Our covers are tailored made to each van, eliminating any loose fabric flapping around the side of the van which can occur with a universal fitting cover. The fabric has been specifically designed for the purpose of covering caravans & motorhomes and therefore will not scratch the windows or paintwork. Our fitting instructions recommend that the cover be placed onto a clean caravan to ensure that no dirt gets onto the inside of the cover.
How does the cover secure onto my caravan?
All caravan covers have four elasticated corners and a minimum set of six webbing straps (dependent on length of van) which pass underneath the caravan and fasten with buckles. Full fitting instructions are included with every cover.
Do the covers have a door opening and how is it fixed?
Yes, there is a Velcro access door so you can still use the caravan whilst the cover is on. Zip fastenings for access doors are not recommended as they could scratch paintwork / windows during fitting and when in situ.
How does the cover fit over aerials, guttering etc?
Allowances are made for aerials, flues and air conditioning units. We recommend that sharp objects on the exterior of your caravan such as aerials and gutters are protected with bubble wrap and foam inserts which we provide in the fitting kit. This prevents any damage to the cover. Full fitting instructions are included with every cover.
How do I store my caravan cover when I'm not using it?
The caravan cover comes complete with a free storage bag to safely store your cover when not in use. It is preferable to remove your cover on a dry day for ease of storage.
Is there an issue if I have Paintseal on my Caravan?
It has been brought to our attention that caravans that have had Paintseal applied do seem to show a dulling to paint work when our Caravan Cover is removed. This is not damage and has not caused any issues to your paint work. It would appear the cover is acting as a buff agent and is buffing up the paint seal and creating a dull appearance. This can simply be removed with cleaning and polishing if required. If you have any concerns, please contact our sales team.
What is the 3 year guarantee?
The cover you have purchased has a three year fabric guarantee which is printed on the back of your fitting instructions. This guarantee is only valid if the cover is used in the UK due to UV test levels having been carried out in the UK spectrum. The guarantee is subject to the following conditions: There shall be no liability in respect of any defect arising from willful damage, negligence, abnormal weather conditions, failure to follow manufacturers instructions, whether oral or in writing, misuse or alterations or repairs to the goods without the manufacturers approval. Caravans and Motorhomes that are kept in storage should be checked regularly to ensure covers and straps are in place in the case of adverse weather. It is the CUSTOMERS RESPONSIBILITY to ensure that all sharp edges are adequately protected bubble wrap or similar. We would particularly advise customers with boat roof caravans such as Lunar, Coachman etc to check the roof from protruding screw heads or rivets. It is important to closely follow the fitting instructions supplied with each cover. Please note, we do not accept responsibility for any damage to the cover in respect of tears caused by sharp objects, e.g. Gutter rails, screw heads etc. The fabric we use is non-abrasive and will not damage the paintwork of your caravan, however we must stress that before the cover is fitted, the caravan MUST BE CLEAN and preferably wax-polished, as any grit and dirt on the caravan body may cause friction marks. Care must also be taken that the inside of the cover does not come into contact with the floor when removing the cover.
