Inside Tow Pro: How We Make Each Cover Fit Perfectly

The Original Towing Cover Tailors

If you’ve ever spotted a universal caravan towing cover flapping in the wind, slipping out of place, or bunching at the corners, you already understand the problem: fit isn’t just important, it’s essential. A quality towing cover should wrap seamlessly around your caravan front, offering protection that moves with the vehicle, not against it.

At Specialised Covers, we design and manufacture the Tow Pro Range with one clear purpose: precision-fit protection built to perform. In this post, we take you behind the scenes to show how each Tow Pro is individually tailored to fit specific caravan models and carefully sewn together at our UK factory, ensuring quality, consistency, and a flawless fit every time.

Fully Tailored

To Your Make, Model And Year

Unlike universal covers, each Towing Cover in our range is individually tailored to specific caravan Make, Model and Year. Whether it’s a Swift, Bailey, Coachman, or Hobby, we’ve carefully patterned and refined every design to ensure a precise fit across the front panel and into the awning channels, with no flapping, shifting, or compromise.

What sets Tow Pro apart is our hands-on design process. Our in-house team uses traditional cloth patterning techniques to achieve a true made-to-measure fit. We start by applying fabric directly to one side (of the front) of the caravan, shaping and smoothing it over every contour. This half-pattern is then meticulously annotated, marking out handle placements, locker doors, windows, and awning channel entry points.

From this hand-drawn template, the full front panel design is mirrored and refined, allowing us to capture the exact lines, curves, and functional access points unique to each model. It’s this level of detail that ensures every Tow Pro cover looks and performs like it was made just for your caravan, because it was.

Expertly Crafted

High-Performance Materials, Precisely Engineered

Each Tow Pro cover is built using a twin-layer non-woven fabric, specially developed for strength, durability, and long-term performance on the road. This material is engineered to resist tearing, abrasion, and harsh weather, making it ideal for towing protection at motorway speeds.

For those seeking enhanced cushioning and impact resistance, our Tow Pro Elite range includes an additional foam-backed lining. This option offers extra protection for high-value caravans or long-haul travel, providing both structure and softness where it counts.

Once a pattern is finalised through our cloth patterning process, it’s digitised by our design team into CAD format and CNC-cut for total accuracy. This process ensures every panel is shaped with precision, delivering a snug, symmetrical fit, no bunching, sagging, or misalignment.

It’s this combination of carefully selected materials and precision manufacturing that makes each Tow Pro cover as functional as it is reliable, mile after mile.

Built To Last

Behind every Tow Pro cover is a team of skilled machinists who know that real quality isn’t rushed. In our Yorkshire-based facility, each cover is carefully assembled by hand, piece by piece, using stitching techniques refined over decades of caravan protection experience.

What makes this special isn’t just the craftsmanship, it’s the commitment. Our machinists take real pride in their work, ensuring every seam is secure, every panel aligned, and every cover up to the high standards we’re known for.

We’re proud to keep our manufacturing entirely in-house and UK-based, allowing us to create meaningful jobs and ensure consistent quality. It also supports sustainable, responsible production, aligned with the values set out in the European 2020 CSR strategy, promoting smart, inclusive growth and reducing our reliance on overseas supply chains.

This isn’t mass production. It’s purpose-built protection, made by people who care about getting it right.
